Comprehensive care for all gynecologic cancers
Our gynecologic oncologists have years of advanced training to diagnose, treat and help prevent all cancers and tumors that affect a woman’s reproductive organs. We treat cancers of the:
- Cervix: Canal that connects the uterus to the vagina
- Ovaries: Organs that release eggs and produce female hormones
- Uterus: The womb
- Vagina: Canal that leads from the uterus and cervix to the genitals
- Vulva: Female genitals
Other precancerous conditions and noncancerous tumors we treat include:
- Abnormal Pap smears: Test results that show abnormal or precancerous cell growth
- Gestational trophoblastic disease: Tumors, usually noncancerous, that develop in the uterus during early pregnancy
- Ovarian and uterine tumors: Benign (noncancerous) tumors in the ovaries and uterus
Partnerships for women’s cancer research
Our gynecologic oncology team collaborates with leading cancer centers and cancer researchers on:
- Breast cancer research: We work with the Lester and Sue Smith Breast Center at Baylor College of Medicine to offer you leading-edge prevention, diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer.
- Cancer clinical trials: SWOG Cancer Research Network is one of the largest NCI-supported cancer clinical trials cooperative groups. As a global cancer research community, its mission is to significantly improve lives through cancer clinical trials and translational research. Our physician researchers actively contribute to SWOG.
