The Russell and Glenda Gordy Center for Innovative Therapies

Physician-scientists who are members of The Russell and Glenda Gordy Center for Innovative Therapies develop new and innovative therapeutic approaches for childhood cancers. The center specializes in ‘precision oncology’ and the development of targeted molecular and cell-based immunotherapies for childhood cancers. Researchers use genomic technologies to develop targeted therapies to treat unique molecular abnormalities in childhood cancers, optimize and build upon current cellular immunotherapies, and develop novel clinical trials based on these works. 

The center supports programmatic laboratory and translational research activities that expedite the development of more effective, innovative and potentially less-toxic therapies for children with cancer and ensure that those who will benefit from these treatments have access to them. 

Since the research findings of our scientists are shared with physicians and researchers nationally and internationally, children with cancer from around the world will benefit from the pioneering new therapies developed in The Russell and Glenda Gordy Center for Innovative Therapies at Texas Children’s Cancer Center.
