The International Hip Dysplasia Institute (IHDI) is a collaborative, international, not-for-profit effort to improve the health and quality of life of those affected by hip dysplasia.

A group of 45 plus pediatric orthopaedic surgeons and researchers with a common goal of advancing knowledge and care of patients with Perthes disease. They seek to provide current, objective information to patients and their families and the medical community.

The animated story of a fun loving hippo's journey with hip dysplasia. Her hope is that her story will help kids not be afraid to have hip dysplasia.

Surgery to restore the shape of the joint is currently more common on the hip socket side with a procedure, called a PAO.
