K12 Pediatric Oncology Research Training Program Apply for the K12 Pediatric Oncology Research Training Program

Eligibility

Junior faculty who have completed or will complete a three-year GME accredited pediatric hematology-oncology fellowship training program prior to the K12 appointment (July 1st) may be eligible to apply. They must be board certified or board eligible in pediatric hematology-oncology. All candidates must also be U.S. citizens, non-citizen nationals of the U.S., or individuals who are lawfully admitted to the U.S. for permanent residence. Candidates are required to devote a minimum of 9 person-months (75% of full-time professional effort) to clinical research and career development.

Applicants must complete the K12 application for the Faculty Fellowship in Pediatric Oncology Clinical Research.

Criteria for consideration consists of:

  • A brief statement of why you are pursuing the K12, how it will help you achieve your long-term career goals and your interest in a career in clinical research focused on one of the Clinical Oncology Training Program's specialty tracks
  • A full CV
  • A personal interview - The Advisory Committee and mentors of the requested specialty track will conduct interviews
  • Applicants may be asked to make a formal presentation or to meet with members of the advisory committee.

The research plan will be scored by the Advisory Committee according to NIH review criteria. The Advisory Committee will make the final selection. Application must be fully completed and submitted before your application will be reviewed. Letters of recommendation will be requested after the Advisory Committee has reviewed your initial application.

Applications for the K12 training program are due October 30.
