Epilepsy Center at Texas Children’s

Epilepsy is the third most common neurological disorder in the U.S. and approximately 750,000 children have seizures or epilepsy. 

The Texas Children's Epilepsy Center has been recognized as a Level 4 epilepsy center by the National Association of Epilepsy, which means it provides the highest level of evaluation and treatment for patients with complex epilepsy. The Epilepsy Center houses a 12-bed monitoring unit designed to monitor patients experiencing seizures over a 2-7 day period of time. Comprehensive treatment options including current and investigational medications, diet recommendations and surgical procedures are all provided at the Epilepsy Center.

Staying true to the Texas Children's multidisciplinary approach, the Epilepsy Center team is comprised of pediatric epileptologists, neurosurgeons, specialized pediatric nurse practitioners, neuropsychologists, neuroradiologists, neuropathologists, neurodiagnostic (EEG) technologists, nutritionists and social workers who are all dedicated to providing patients with the best possible care.
