Get to know Petra Duran, PhD
Dr. Duran is the Co-Director of Inclusive Excellence, and currently an Assistant Professor in the Psychology Division within the Department of Pediatrics at Baylor College of Medicine (BCM). She is especially passionate about the evaluation and treatment of disruptive behaviors of preschoolers among community and medically complex populations. Dr. Duran is fluent in English and Spanish.
Clinical Interests
Dr. Duran’s clinical work places emphasis on evidence based interventions and her commitment to culturally competent service provision. A primary focus of her treatment is to adapt interventions to accommodate family, cultural and social factors. Dr. Duran’s academic interest include multicultural competencies in training and supervision.

Research interests
Dr. Duran aims to conduct research that informs intervention efforts tailored to underserved and vulnerable populations. In particular, her primary goal for research is to examine the role of culture and family systems within a behavioral parent training paradigm.
