N. Thao N. Galvan, MD, MPH specializes in adult and pediatric liver and kidney transplantations.
After earning her Bachelor of Science from Emory University with highest honors, Dr. Galván completed her medical degree at Emory University School of Medicine. During that time, she obtained her Master in Public Health degree, focused on international health and organizational policy, from Tulane University. She completed her general surgery residency in the research track at Baylor College of Medicine. During her residency Dr. Galván was awarded a CPRIT fellowship supporting her two-year research study on the genomics of hepatocellular carcinoma. Dr. Galván subsequently completed a two-year multi-organ transplant fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine under the guidance of John A. Goss, MD, professor of surgery and chief of the Division of Abdominal Transplantation.
Dr. Galvan is the author of numerous articles in the areas of solid organ transplantation outcomes and surgical technique in transplantation. Her current interests include the economics of solid organ transplantation, and her research project on additive biomanufacturing and collaborative translational research was recently funded.
