Personal Statement

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with more than 20 years of experience in clinical care for families of children with developmental disabilities and special health care needs, as well as in grant writing, program development, and community outreach.  My areas of interest include working with parents and caregivers on positive behavior management as well as developing interventions to address caregiver stress and enhance self-efficacy.  In addition to my clinical practice, I teach medical learners and other health care professionals about family-centered care, community resources and services, and effective advocacy strategies at the local, state and national levels.
