Saint Arnold’s Brewing Company Surpasses $1 Million Raised for IBD Program at Texas Children’s

Press Release

Houston-(September 10, 2024) – Texas Children’s Hospital is pleased to officially dedicate the Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition Clinic Check Out area in honor of The Feast of Saint Arnold.

The Feast of Saint Arnold is an annual event hosted by Saint Arnold Brewing Company, headquartered in Houston. Now in its 14th year, the feast has cumulatively raised more than $1 million to support the transformational research and care provided to patients with inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD). The feast also underwrites expenses for the annual Camp Survived It All for young people with IBD or who have undergone liver transplantation.

“Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis are some of the most difficult conditions for children to cope with, and long-term philanthropic support like Saint Arnold’s makes an incredible difference in our ability to improve the lives of children who come to us for care,” said Benjamin L. Schneider, MD, service chief of the Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition department. “We are beyond thankful for Saint Arnold Brewing Company’s generosity and willingness to raise awareness of these diseases.”

Brock Wagner, founder of Saint Arnold Brewing Company, became involved with Texas Children’s Inflammatory Bowel Disease Program when his daughter Martha was a patient. The first of its kind in Houston, the IBD program offers a comprehensive, multidisciplinary approach to the diagnosis and treatment of inflammatory bowel disease, including Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis. IBD affects more than 1 million people in the U.S. alone.

The Feast of Saint Arnold is a popular annual fundraiser and gourmet dinner that raises funds for IBD research and programs. This year’s feast was held on July 21st.
