Personal Statement
Dr. Sarah Cable is a licensed psychologist specializing in pediatric neuropsychology. She supports patients with brain injuries and brain disorders by conducting thorough evaluations of their cognitive, behavioral and emotional functioning. She uses standardized tests and procedures to identify cognitive strengths and weaknesses as well as any behavioral concerns, and follows that analysis with recommendations for educational and therapeutic interventions. Dr. Cable communicates these findings through face-to-face discussions with families and written reports that can be shared with important individuals in a child's life.
From Dr. Cable:
I view my role as a pediatric neuropsychologist as a privilege and a responsibility. I am committed to providing high-quality, culturally sensitive and compassionate care to my patients and their families. I am passionate about understanding and supporting children and families facing cognitive, behavioral and emotional challenges related to medical conditions. I firmly believe that each child is unique and more than a list of diagnoses. Thus, I strive to understand the whole child and their specific needs. I also recognize that every family has their own values, beliefs and traditions and so I take into account the emotional impact a child’s challenges can have on the entire family. I aim to create a safe and inclusive space in which diverse experiences are respected and integrated into the care plan. I do my best to ensure that my communication is clear, empathetic and supportive. Families are not just recipients of care – they are integral partners in a child’s forward progress, and I consider this with the recommendations I provide.
