Dr. Dunn's research interests include the development and implementation of clinical molecular diagnostic assays for viral and bacterial infectious diseases. He has largely focused on testing for clinical syndromes involving the respiratory tract, central nervous system, and gastrointestinal tract. He has assessed the utility of rapid diagnosis of infection for these conditions and their impact on patient management, infection control practices, and healthcare utilization.
