Personal Statement
I have spent my entire career in large community Pediatric and Cardiac Intensive Care Units. I was also involved in the growth and expansion of the Pediatric Heart Center along with the Heart Failure and Transplant programs. While in these roles, I was able to continue as a clinical adjunct professor with medical students from the local medical universities. I believe in empathy, teamwork, compassion and evidence-based care for all my patients and their families. I approach every patient as if they were one of my own children and promote trust and open communication from the ICU team. TCH North Austin is a perfect mesh of my expertise from the community hospital setting combined with all the expertise of a quaternary Academic Center like TCH Houston.
