Christina Wood, FNP-BC, is a family nurse practitioner in the department of Orthopedic Surgery at Texas Children’s Hospital. She focuses her care on fracture treatment and management, lower extremity concerns and scoliosis. She is involved with patient care during all aspects of their treatment, from initial to follow-up clinic visits.  She has independent clinics in the Medical Center, Bellaire and Clear Lake. She also works with Dr. Phillips who specializes in scoliosis treatment in the Medical Center and Clear Lake.

Christina earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at The University of Texas Health Science Center in 2009.  After obtaining her BSN she worked as a nurse providing postoperative care to adult and pediatric Orthopedic patients for over 4 years.  After that time she joined Texas Children’s Hospital from 2013-2015 for pediatric inpatient care and research.  After taking some time off after the birth of her twins, she returned to Texas Children’s Hospital in 2017 as a family nurse practitioner.

Christina has gained such personal fulfillment practicing as a nurse practitioner.  She does her best to put the patient first and listen to his or her needs while providing compassionate and comprehensive care.  Christina takes great pride in her work at Texas Children’s Hospital and enjoys providing care to the pediatric population and their parents.
