About Us

The mission of the Nursing Professional Development department is to develop high performance individuals and teams. Nursing Professional Development supports operations of Texas Children’s Hospital by providing system-wide and community services that facilitate the ongoing development of clinical personnel. The outcome of ongoing training and development are competent and empowered patient-care providers who continually improve individual, team and organizational development and patient outcomes.

Basic Functions

To design and coordinate the implementation and evaluation of the competence monitoring process for patient care providers

  • To provide nursing and interdisciplinary training and development programs      
  • To develop and implement innovative programs to recruit and retain registered nurses
