Seeking general pediatric medical consultation regarding one of your patient’s?
Our Purpose To serve as an accessible consultation resource for pediatricians, family physicians and other providers caring for children. We welcome patients seeking reassurance and recommendations, particularly those presenting difficult diagnostic challenges and complex problems. Some example conditions seen include, but are not limited to:
Periodic fever syndromes
Persistent fatigue
Dermatologic problems
Allergic Reactions
Musculoskeletal disorders and more
Our Process Once referring providers have completed our Consult Request Form, the Clinic’s Nurse Coordinator gather’s all relevant information and presents the case for case review. If the request is deemed appropriate for our clinic, the family is contacted by the Clinical Nurse Coordinator to schedule an appointment.
Our Providers see patients, most often, only for a one-time visit to assess the case. In most cases, no follow-up visit is needed. However, the providers may request a patient return for a one-time follow-up visit only, perhaps to discuss lab results. At the conclusion of the consult, parents are instructed to return to their referring physician for further care and attention. (Consultants are not seeking patients for ongoing care and do not want to become the patient’s primary care physician.) Following the consult visit, the consultant sends a summary note to the referring provider discussing diagnostic possibilities and additional recommendations or suggestions.
