At Texas Children’s Pavilion for Women, we care for women and children from preconception to long after the birth of the child. We are dedicated to obstetrics, gynecology and fetal intervention because we know to improve the health of children, we must start with mothers. To help you get to know our physicians better, we decided to sit down with them and do a short Q&A.

What is your role at Texas Children's Pavilion for Women?

I am currently a private practice physician in obstetrics and gynecology at the Pavilion for Women.

How long have you worked for Texas Children's Pavilion for Women?

I will celebrate my one year anniversary at the Pavilion in May. I have been an OB/GYN for 14 years.

What piece of advice would you give to new parents?

My advice to new parents is love your children unconditionally; seek advice and counsel from family members who have raised children; and always remember it takes a village to raise a child.

What is the most rewarding part of your job?

The most rewarding part of my job is bringing new life into this world. It is fulfilling to see how much joy and happiness it brings a family during the birthing process.

Where is your favorite place to visit?

I enjoy traveling to different parts of the world each year to expose myself to different cultures. This allows me to be a well-rounded individual.

Tell us what you love about working in women’s health?

I enjoy working in women’s health because I am able to care for women during all stages of their lives. I am able to focus on preventative care. I am provided the opportunity to care for women in their pre-conception years, when they are having children and in their transition to menopausal years and beyond. I not only am afforded the opportunity to be their physician, but I am an extended part of the family.

Are you originally from Houston? If not, where are you from?

Yes; I am originally from Houston.

Where did you attend school?

I attended St. Thomas High School, went on to college at Xavier University of New Orleans and went to medical school at Baylor College of Medicine.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

In 10 years I see myself still practicing OB/GYN because it is such a vital component of my life.

What is the best advice you give patients?

The best advice I give patients is to always educate themselves on health issues that pertain to both them and their family members.
