Dr. Marilyn Hockenberry Receives Prestigious SIOP Nursing Leadership Award

Texas Children’s Cancer & Hematology Center is proud to announce that Dr. Marilyn Hockenberry has been named the 2025 recipient of the Nursing Leadership Award by the International Society of Paediatric Oncology (SIOP). This global honor recognizes her exceptional leadership in pediatric oncology nursing and her lasting impact on education, research and clinical care.

Dr. Hockenberry serves as Director of Nursing and Education for Global HOPE at Texas Children’s Cancer & Hematology Center and is Professor of Pediatrics in the Division of Hematology-Oncology at Baylor College of Medicine. She has authored more than 100 publications and is senior editor of Wong’s Essentials of Pediatric Nursing, a leading textbook in the field.

The award includes honorary SIOP membership and support to attend the annual congress, providing an opportunity to further amplify her voice in advancing pediatric oncology nursing worldwide. Congratulations to Dr. Hockenberry on this well-deserved recognition and her continued contributions to improving care for children with cancer.
