Cooking Up Cures for Children with Food Allergies

Fundraising

Many people confuse food allergies with a preference for one dish or another. However, for children with serious food allergies, avoiding ingredients they are allergic to can be a life or death situation. To raise awareness of the seriousness of food allergies, Texas Children’s hosts Cooking Up A Cure.

Now in its seventh year, this special event raises awareness and much needed funds to support research into a better understanding of and new treatments for childhood food allergies.

Cooking Up A Cure will be held Thursday, February 6, 2025 at The Revaire, and will feature some of the finest chefs and restaurants Houston has to offer. Attendees get to sample one-of-a-kind dishes, enjoy cocktails, and hear how Chef Shaun King keeps Uckhiko an allergy-safe space and program updates from Division Chair Dr. Lisa Forbes Satter and the amazing food allergy team.

Each food station will list the top nine allergens in their dishes in order to highlight how common these ingredients are.

Proceeds benefit patient initiatives and research for Texas Children’s Food Allergy Program. This year’s funds will help Texas Children’s expand its food challenge testing services to all four campuses in Houston and Austin.

Our 2025 culinary partners include
