Personal Statement
I am a board certified, practicing general pediatrician and fellowship trained clinician researcher. My NIH funded research focuses on identifying strategies to prevent childhood obesity, understanding how fathers and mothers influence their children’s lifestyle behaviors, and using technology to measure behaviors related to the development of obesity among children. I am passionate about promoting health equity and finding culturally centered approaches for children to live healthy lives. In clinical practice I help our team provide general pediatric medical and preventive care for children from birth to 21 years old.
