Get to know Sofia Scharunovych, PT, DPT, CSCS
Dr. Sofia Scharunovych is a licensed Physical Therapist who is currently a Sport Physical Therapy Resident at Texas Children's Hospital. She works with the pediatric athlete population and assists local high schools with training room and event coverage.
She has a special interest in gymnastics as she was a competitive gymnast for 10 years. She also enjoys treating those involved in the performing arts.
Sofia has presented research at national conferences and is currently conducting research on gymnasts to better serve this population. Sofia believes in the powerful role of exercise and movement in aiding in a return to daily life and a return to sporting activities. She uses thoughtful exercise prescription, current research and her patient's individual goals to guide her practice.
