Personal Statement
As a pediatric nephrologist, I provide care to children with all types of kidney conditions and diseases including nephrotic syndrome, kidney and urinary anomalies, hypertension, chronic kidney disease, end stage renal disease, dialysis, transplantation and renal failure from other diseases. With any child that has a chronic condition, it is important that the medical team, patient, and family be able to have an open dialogue in order to build trust, get to know each other, and ultimately work together to do what is best for the patient. I have been fortunate to learn these skills from my mentors which is how I became passionate about medical education and thus serve as the Associate Program Director for the Renal Fellowship. Throughout my training, I have learned the importance of quality improvement in delivering care to our patients.
