Get to know Lenora M. Noroski, MD, MPH
Dr. Lenora Noroski is an expert in clinical care, education, public health and research in inborn errors of immunity/primary-secondary immunodeficiencies and complex allergic, autoimmune and immune dysregulation disorders in infants, children and adults facing these conditions.
She is a leader in graduate medical education, clinical immunology and organizational programming. Her accomplishments include:
· Director of Allergy/Immunology (AI) Fellowship Program and Innovative Educational Programming for Immunology, Allergy & Retrovirology at Baylor College of Medicine
· Recognition by the ACGME as a David Leach Awardee for resident-centered allergy curricula and program accreditations
· Founding the Consortium of International Trainees in Immunology (CITI) for global medical students
· Developed Global Immunodeficiency Rounds as a collaborative global patient care-teaching initiative
· Created FreezePlay, an interactive educational game on HIV facts
· Served as Medical Director for Camp Hope/HUG (with AIDS Foundation Houston and Texas Children’s Hospital) in developing the first recreational camps in Texas for HIV children, their families and health care providers
· Being showcased and published by the Committee on the Underserved of the American Academy of Allergy Asthma & Immunology (AAAAI) for her work on health literacy/cross-cultural communication
Additionally, Dr. Noroski currently serves co-Director of the T-Cell Lymphopenia Program to address the clinical, education, public health and research needs of babies identified by the newborn screen for SCID/T-cell disorders. She is collaborating to design a Quality Improvement EPIC Registry for these babies, has co-founded David’s Champions iCARE Network with our immunodeficiency community and co-conducts a clinical research forum for trainees.
Dr. Noroski is dedicated to the sciences, health literacy and the learning/teaching exchange with her trainees, colleagues and our communities to understand needs towards making change for effective and meaningful differences for her patients and their families, trainees and medical educational systems and our global communities.
