Get to know Lauren K. Havel, MD
Dr. Havel is passionate about providing evidence-based, patient-focused treatment to children and adolescents. She brings a wide range of clinical experience and expertise to her current role at Texas Children’s Hospital. A native Houstonian, she studied psychology at Yale, received her medical degree at Baylor College of Medicine, and completed her psychiatry residency and fellowship at Columbia and New York Presbyterian Hospital. After graduation, she sought out additional training in psychodynamic psychotherapy at the Columbia Center for Psychoanalytic Training and Research. Alongside her clinical work, Dr. Havel currently serves as the medical director for the BCM hub of the Texas Child Psychiatry Access Network, which provides behavioral health consultation to pediatricians and primary care providers
