Personal Statement
Kristi Wilson-Lewis is the Administrative Director of the Global Hematology-Oncology Pediatric Excellence (HOPE) program at Texas Children's Cancer and Hematology Center.
Ms. Wilson-Lewis previously served as Administrative Director of Texas Children’s Cancer and Hematology Center at Texas Children’s Hospital from 1993 until 2019. She was responsible for the overall administrative operations of the largest academic pediatric hematology-oncology center in the country which included patient care, laboratory research, clinical research, core laboratories and administration. She built the program from 42 faculty and staff to over 1,000. Ms. Wilson-Lewis is an expert in the area of patient flow analysis and process mapping.
For over 27 years, she facilitated patient flow analysis, conducted process mapping and redesigned and documented patient flow processes for over 65 pediatric and medical and surgical subspecialty clinics.
Ms. Wilson-Lewis graduated from James Madison University with a Bachelor’s of Social Work and from the University of Texas with a Master’s of Social Work with a focus on Administration and Planning. Subsequently, Ms. Wilson-Lewis received a Certificate in Healthcare Administration from Rice University in Houston Texas.
