Personal Statement
Katie believes in the importance of individualized care and insuring that each child has the opportunity to reach their maximum potential possible. She works to empower each family with the tools to assist their child in achieving their dreams.
Clinical Interests:
Katie is a licensed Physical Therapist in the Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation department at Texas Children’s Hospital, Medical Center. She has a special interest in working with infants and young children with Torticollis and an array of developmental delays. She works with families to create an individualized treatment plan to assist each child in achieving their gross motor milestones while maintaining appropriate postural control. She utilizes a multitude of treatment interventions, including but not limited to: neurodevelopmental treatment, manual therapy and myofascial release, and kinesiotaping. She serves as clinical support in TCH Plagiocephaly Clinic, working with the Neurosurgery team to provide consults to those with range of motion restrictions or developmental delays. In addition, Katie has specialized training to treat clients using the Hocoma Lokomat, a robot-assisted ambulation device utilized by children with gait impairments to improve functional mobility and their ability to walk.
