Personal Statement

Julie joined Texas Children’s Hospital The Woodlands as an occupational therapist in 2022, caring for pediatric patients in the inpatient and outpatient settings.  Prior to joining Texas Children’s, she garnered valuable experience as a behavioral technician, treating pediatric patients at Applied Behavior Therapy for Life .

At Texas Children’s, Julia’s patients have varying diagnoses and she enjoys working with them to determine how best to enhance their quality of life.  Julia is also interested in enhancing knowledge among her peers in the field of occupational therapy.  In 2022, she spoke at the American Occupational Therapy Association conference in San Antonio, Texas, on the topic of  “Enhance Occupational Well-Being Through Neurofeedback Mindfulness Meditation: Using a Low-Cost Portable Electroencephalogram Wearable Device.

Clinical Interests:

Feeding and oral motor skills in medically complex patients recovering in the ICU/acute care and outpatient settings.
