Get to know Julia Kerscher, MA, CCC-SLP
Julia is a speech-language pathologist who specializes in evaluating and treating dysphagia within the acute and critical care setting. Her primary clinical focus is pediatric dysphagia and neurodevelopmental care, specifically with patients with congenital heart defects in the cardiovascular intensive care unit (CVICU). She loves working closely with families to support caregiver-infant bonding and neurodevelopmental care by implementing evidenced-based care through her daily practice. She actively participates in interdisciplinary developmental care rounds and heart failure rehabilitation rounds to best support patients in the domains of speech, language, cognition, and feeding/swallowing.

My philosophy of care is prioritizing evidence-based practice with patient and family-centered care to empower caregivers to feel confident feeding their children in a safe and positive way.
