Personal Statement
Working at Texas Children’s was years in the making, and well worth it from the beginning. I spent time at Pepperdine University for my undergrad, Abilene Christian for my Master’s, and completed my residency in the Memorial Hermann Medical Center campus, most of that time under the drive to serve pediatrics and walk alongside the families here. My passion for Texas Children’s emerges from my own parenthood and embracing vision as much as I do empathy in the care that I provide. I have served at Texas Childrens since 2012 and have loved the intensity and belonging that are key principles of chaplaincy in the ICU, and using skills of calm, play, and reflecting sacred love to the children and families in the units. The PICU and this place are home for both me and my family, including my wife and my boys.
