Personal Statement
Embryology found me! I have always had a passion for the field of life sciences and helping people. When I was introduced to embryology, it was a perfect fit. Embryology is such a dynamic field that continues to evolve over time with the assistance of scientific research and ever-changing technologies.
My career in embryology transcends beyond 15 years which has been filled with various opportunities to learn and progress through education, research collaborations and continuously honing my laboratory skills. I have been fortunate in my years as a clinical embryologist to learn progressive techniques such as polar body, blastomere and trophectoderm biopsies, intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) and vitrification. Moreover, I participated in the first ovarian tissue transplantation at Texas Children’s Hospital.
As IVF continues to advance, I am committed to increasing my knowledge about egg and sperm quality as well as embryo development trends. I will do so through the use of cutting-edge time lapse systems that will aid in generating viable embryos with the goal of helping patients achieve their dreams of having a happy and healthy baby.
