Personal Statement
Passionate about providing exceptional care to children and their families regardless of diagnosis, Brooke has had the opportunity to serve children with speech-language and feeding-swallowing disorders through the use of evidence based practice and interdisciplinary collaboration. Brooke has obtained specialized training and education in pediatric dysphagia, feeding difficulties in infants and children, and early speech-language acquisition and development.
Her goal as a speech-language pathologist is to support children in establishing functional communication and advancing their feeding skills in a safe and lasting way. She strongly believes speech-language and feeding-swallowing therapy can (and should) be fun. Brooke has found the most optimal progress has been achieved through natural consequences and setting manageable expectations within play.
Clinical Interests:
Brooke’s clinical interests include feeding and swallowing disorders found in infants and children that are associated with a variety of diagnoses including prematurity, cerebral palsy, genetic disorders, sensory processing disorders, autism spectrum disorder, oral-motor disorders, and as well as gastrointestinal, cardiac, and airway concerns.
