Personal Statement
I have been a neonatal nurse for over 35 years and a neonatal nurse practitioner for over 20 years. I enjoy providing bedside neonatal care in all NICU levels, attending deliveries and transports and providing neonatal resuscitation and stabilization. My primary focus, outside of bedside neonatal care, is educational opportunities for all healthcare professionals that positively impact the care of the neonate and family. I am a national faculty instructor for the S.T.A.B.L.E. program and have taught this most widely distributed and implemented neonatal educational program both nationally and internationally. I am currently pursuing my Doctorate in Nursing degree at the University of Texas Health Science Center to continue my lifelong learning goal towards the quality improvement and positive safety outcomes important to my colleagues and organization for the families of the neonatal patients we are caring for.
