Personal Statement

As the Assistant Director of the Neonatal Nurse Practitioners (NNP’s) and Pediatric Nurse Practitioners (PNP’S) in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), my role is to guide, support and advocate for each Nurse Practitioner (NP) within the NICU. Providing leadership support and guidance of their clinical practice, to yield the greatest outcomes in our patients, is my primary focus as I advocate for the NP’s and their role within the organization and the Newborn Center. Equivalently, I support each NNP and PNP as they advance their professional practice through education, conference attendance, quality improvement and research. Collaboration with the physicians and our extensive interdisciplinary teams is paramount as we strive to advance care of the neonatal population through innovative and evidence based care within our organization as well as across the realm of neonatology.
