Personal Statement
Aubrey received a Master’s in Community Health Education from the University of New Mexico in 2016 and a Master's in Physician Assistant studies from Baylor College of Medicine in 2018. Aubrey completed Texas Children’s Pediatric Surgical Fellowship program for Physician Assistants in 2019. Upon Fellowship completion, she accepted a Surgical Hospitalist position at West Campus.
Aubrey has experience providing care for children in a variety of settings including responding to surgical consultations in the emergency room, first assisting in the operating room and providing inpatient medical care. She values working in a collaborative capacity with providers from various specialties to provide the best overall care for her patients. She strives to empower families as a valuable member of the medical team and enjoys providing surgical education. Aubrey is the West Campus Global Health Committee lead which focuses to address health disparities locally and abroad.
Clinical Interests:
Aubrey’s roles include evaluating surgical concerns in the emergency room; performing trauma evaluations and guiding trauma management; caring for surgical patients admitted to the hospital before and after surgery; performing bedside procedures and first assisting surgeons of various surgical specialties in the operating room. She is interested in optimizing patient care through quality improvement research, inter-disciplinary communication, evidence-based medicine and patient advocacy.
