Get to know Amaka Akalonu, MD
I believe that providing exceptional care to children is a great privilege. Children should feel involved in their care and as such leaving a lasting positive impression on the children I care for is of utmost importance. As a strong advocate of the mind- body connection, I believe that addressing the gastrointestinal issue is as important as fostering the total well-being of a child which cannot be achieved without empathy, mutual trust and dedication.
Dr. Akalonu is board certified by American board of Pediatrics and the American board of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition.
Clinical Interests
Being a community gastroenterologist, Dr. Akalonu cares for children with a wide variety of acute and chronic gastrointestinal disorders. I am particularly interested in Neurogastroenterology and functional disorders with focus on manometry studies.
