Dr. Alexander Saucedo is an Assistant Professor of Maternal Fetal Medicine who specializes in the care of high-risk pregnancies. His professional interests include caring for patients with high-risk pregnancies, surgical obstetrics, placenta accreta spectrum (PAS) disorder, obesity in pregnancy, and labor induction management strategies. He has been the primary investigator on a randomized clinical trial on labor induction management and has been published recently in peer-reviewed journals such as The American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology (AJOG), AJOG MFM and the American Journal of Perinatology. He is a current member of the Society for Maternal Fetal Medicine and American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.
Dr. Saucedo has a strong passion for mentoring academic trainees and was awarded the Fellow teacher of the year award twice during his fellowship at UT Austin. He enjoys giving didactic lectures to medical students and OB/GYN residents. He has assisted with a number of formal operative delivery simulation sessions.
Personal Statement
I have a strong passion for caring for patients with high-risk pregnancies, surgical obstetrics and operative delivery, and academic mentoring of trainees. I strive to provide a full spectrum of equitable reproductive health care to all patients no matter what their backgrounds, especially those patients in underserved communities.
