About

I believe in the highest quality, evidence-based care for hospitalized children

Clinical  Interests:
I am very interested in children with respiratory illnesses particularly with community acquired pneumonia, bronchiolitis and asthma that account for the vast majority of hospitalizations in the US

Research Interests:
My main academic interest is in the issue of overuse of medical test and therapies in pediatrics. I led the first pediatric effort for the American Board of Internal Medicine Foundation’s Choosing Wisely Campaign and have authored several publications on the issue of value in health care, overtreatment and overdiagnosis.  I have conducted numerous national and International presentations on this subject.
