Get to know Paige Swanson, PT, DPT
Paige is a Sports Physical Therapist who specializes in working with the adolescent athlete determined to return to play. Paige is passionate about working with athletes of all ages and loves to incorporate strength and conditioning principles with current research to provide the most evidence-based practice for her patients. She believes that the demands of the athlete’s chosen sport should translate into their rehabilitation so they feel prepared when they return to competition. Paige has had experience presenting her research on athletes sustaining lower extremity injuries following a concussion at multiple national conferences and is involved in several ongoing research projects at Texas Children’s Hospital. She serves as faculty for Texas Children’s Sports Physical Therapy Residency.
Personal Statement
I am passionate about helping adolescent athletes return to the sports they love stronger, more resilient, and more confident than before their injury. As a sports physical therapist, I believe rehabilitation should reflect the demands of an athlete’s sport, blending strength and conditioning principles with current research to deliver the most evidence-based care possible. By integrating current research with practical performance training, I aim to help athletes recover safely, minimize their risk of re-injury, and return to play better than before. I view each patient as an individual with unique goals and strengths, and I strive to create a supportive, motivating environment where they feel empowered to take an active role in their recovery.
Outside of the clinic, I enjoy staying active myself through weightlifting, walking, and playing pick-up soccer. I love spending time with my golden retriever and reading. These interests not only keep me balanced but also deepen my appreciation for the role movement and activity play in lifelong health—an outlook I strive to instill in every patient I treat.
