Personal Statement
Dr. Oezguen is interested in the structural aspects of protein function, protein-protein and protein-ligand interactions. His expertise includes sequence analysis, homology modeling, molecular dynamic simulations and docking. He is also interested in visual analytics approaches and the application of these methods to complex biomedical data sets in order to elucidate disease mechanisms. Recently, Dr. Oezguen has worked on DNA repair pathways, insulin signaling, structural elucidation of allergenic proteins, and is now actively involved in studying the structural basis for novel microbial-neuroimmune interactions.
