About

Jessica received her Bachelor of Science in nursing in 2008. Following graduation, she joined Texas Children’s Hospital as a staff nurse in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. She gained experience caring for children with many complex medical conditions, as well as experience in ECMO and continuous dialysis. She also served as a rapid response nurse for several years, which included assessing patients that may need to be transferred to higher acuity units.

Jessica obtained her Masters of Science in Nursing, Family Nurse Practitioner certification in 2015. Jessica joined the epilepsy service at Texas Children’s where she cared for complex patients in the epilepsy monitoring unit, and worked with the neurosurgery team in caring for surgical epilepsy patients.

In 2017, Jessica obtained her post-masters in pediatric nurse practitioner-acute care and accepted a position with neurosurgery caring for patients in the Neuro ICU, as well as other ICUs within legacy tower. Jessica has a special interest in Traumatic Brain Injury patients and epilepsy patients, however, she finds all areas of neurosurgery intriguing and enjoys getting to care for these patients as part of a multidisciplinary team. Jessica has also has served on the Ethics committee at Texas Children’s and as an instructor teaching PALS(Pediatric Advanced Life Support).

In her time off, she enjoys working out at her cross-training gym downtown, running, and hanging out with her friends, family, and 2 dogs .
