Elise Ishigami is the Assistant Director of the Global Hematology Oncology Pediatric Excellence program (HOPE) at Texas Children’s Cancer and Hematology Centers. She leads the administrative operations and strategic planning of the centers’ global programs in Africa focused around patient care, capacity building and research.
Elise Ishigami has 15 years of experience in global health programs management. She worked 5 years in West Africa on pubic health and socio-economic programs before joining Texas Children’s Hospital. Prior to joining the Texas Children’s Cancer and Hematology Centers, Elise worked at the Texas Children’s Global Health Initiative. In this capacity, she drove the development and management of key partnerships with Ministries of Health, the Pan American Health Organization/World Health Organization, public and private institutions, and donors to expand international programs for the hospital in Central and South America. She led the strategic planning, program development and operations of the Texas Children’s Hospital World Health Organization Collaborating Centre for Perinatal-Neonatal Health.
Ms. Elise Ishigami graduated from the School of Public Health (ISPED) of Victor Segalen University Bordeaux, France with a Master of Public Health and Global Health Administration and Planning. She studied in France, Japan (Waseda University) and Australia (Australian National University). She also holds a master degree of business administration with a specialization in international affairs from the– Institute of Business Administration (IAE), Lyon University, France.
