Personal Statement
As a speech-language pathologist who specializes in feeding and swallowing, my passion is developing a method of eating for children that fits into the framework of their families. Every child is complex and has a multitude of factors that he or she brings to the feeding environment. I love the problem solving that comes along with developing a means of nutrition for each individual child. It is my belief that every child, from neonates to older adolescents, can collaborate with us through their own form of communication to ensure a safe and effective feeding method and work towards advancing to a wider range of skills and variety of foods accepted.
Clinical Interests
Cardiac, neonatal, and infant feeding/swallowing, laryngeal clefts and their impact on swallowing, sensorimotor feeding difficulties, instrumental swallowing evaluations, and the effect of various complex medical diagnoses on feeding and swallowing
