Abbas A. Rana, MD

Dr. Rana is a transplant surgeon at Texas Children’s Hospital and an Associate Professor of Surgery in the Division of Abdominal Transplantation at Baylor College of Medicine. He specializes in liver and kidney transplantation and surgeries for malignant and non-malignant conditions that affect the liver, gallbladder and bile ducts. An accomplished outcomes researcher with more than 110 published articles in esteemed medical journals, Dr. Rana is a recipient of the Young Investigators Award from the American Society of Transplant Surgeons and the Early-Career Award for Excellence in Patient Care from Baylor College of Medicine. He is certified by the American Board of Surgery and is a member of the American Society of Transplant Surgeons, American Medical Association, American Society of Transplantation and the Association for Academic Surgery. Dr. Rana is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
