Updates

Parents with children who have been diagnosed with a craniofacial condition often seek educational resources and information on local support groups. Our experts have collected a list of helpful online resources for patients and their families.

International Services

Texas Children’s Hospital is a global destination for specialty and subspecialty care for children, with patients coming to us from more than 70 countries across the globe. Our International and Destination Medicine Program includes a team of experts dedicated exclusively to meeting the needs of international patients and their families and to working with them before, during and after their visit to Austin. We offer services for children and are committed to achieving optimal patient outcomes that address quality, service and patient and family satisfaction.

Texas Children’s International and Destination Medicine acts as the primary point of contact for families, foreign providers, payors, and other international organizations. Our team ensures that distance and language are not obstacles to receiving world-class care.

What to Expect at Your First Visit

Your child’s first visit to Texas Children’s Craniofacial Program will include a complete exam of the child’s head shape by a neurosurgeon and/or plastic surgeon. Our team has access to state-of-the-art technology, such as the 3DMD imaging system and the laser STAR scanner, and a wide range of resources to properly and accurately diagnose craniofacial issues.

Family Advocacy

The Family Advocacy Department’s goal at our North Austin Campus is to ensure excellent care and service during your care at Texas Children’s. A family advocate is available to assist you with any questions or concerns you may have. This includes any questions you may have about finances and billing or about your upcoming hospital visit. We have qualified Child Life specialists in our team for children with high anxiety about visiting a hospital. In addition to improvement suggestions, we also want to hear about any positive or outstanding encounters you may experience during your stay.

Children's Craniofacial Association

Children's Craniofacial Association is a national, 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, headquartered in Dallas, Texas, dedicated to improving the quality of life for people with facial differences and their families. Nationally and internationally, CCA addresses the medical, financial, psychosocial, emotional, and educational concerns relating to craniofacial conditions. The CCA website offers information for children and parents touched by a craniofacial diagnosis.

Setting up your MyChart Account

Please contact our craniofacial team to get your own MyChart account. We will set up the account and then send you an activation code to enter your own username and password. We recommend that you put your information as the guardian when setting up the account, not your child’s information. This ensures that your MyChart account links to your child’s account so you can access it at any time.

You will not be able to use all the functions of MyChart until your first clinic or telemedicine visit with our team is complete. After that first visit through MyChart you will be able to do telemedicine visits on your device, send us a message, upload pictures to your child’s account, schedule an appointment, and access clinic visit notes.
