World-Renowned Imaging: How Radiology Guided Conjoined Twins Separation

Conjoined twins Ella Grace and Eliza Faith Fuller were successfully separated in June 2023 in a six hour-long surgery at Texas Children’s Hospital. Yet before the twins were ever born, the Radiology team at Texas Children’s was at work. As early as the prenatal screenings, our radiologists were delivering high-end imaging that would be crucial to the surgical team’s ability to effectively separate the two sisters. Through state-of-the-art fetal MRI, Texas Children’s expert team of pediatric radiologists studied the complex fetal anatomy in detail. This specialized technology and radiological expertise delivered precision diagnostics that made it possible for two beautiful and healthy baby girls to return home with Mom and Dad.
