Jay is focused on optimizing health and dedicated to improving the quality of life of physically active persons.  He recognizes patient and family education as a critical component of a successful treatment plan and understands clarifying misinformation or preconceptions can improve an athlete’s short and long term success.  He believes the ability to relate to others on a human level in combination with knowledge and skills allows clinicians to be most effective.

Prior to Texas Children’s Hospital, Jay spent his early career working in the minor leagues with the St. Louis Cardinals and Detroit Tigers including a season in the Venezuelan Winter League and another in the Arizona Fall League.  He also has experience working in an outpatient physical therapy clinic as well as an athletic development facility.

Jay is a Licensed Athletic Trainer (LAT), Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC), Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), Performance Enhancement Specialist (PES), and ImPACT Trained Athletic Trainer (ITAT).  His clinical interests include overhead athletes, kinetic chain dysfunction, muscle imbalance syndromes, myofascial restrictions, and nutrition.
