Conferences Pediatric Hematology-Oncology Quality and Safety Conference

Texas Children’s Cancer and Hematology Center is offering a Conference in Quality and Safety. The goal of the conference is to advance a culture of integrated quality improvement in Pediatric Hematology and Oncology, provide a forum to share and discuss ongoing initiatives, and foster collaborative work in Pediatric Hematology-Oncology quality and safety. The symposium will feature keynote speakers and a poster session.

Abstract Submission

All conference attendees are encouraged to submit abstracts and present a poster during the conference. Presentation areas of focus include medication safety, hemoglobinopathy, pain control and transition of care, and inpatient workflows. However, all abstract topics are encouraged.

The poster session will be on November 10, 2023 from 12:00pm to 1:00pm.

Target Audience. Physicians, residents, fellows, advanced practice providers, nurses, social workers, pharmacists and other healthcare professionals 
 
Learning Objectives. At the conclusion of the lecture, the participants should be better able to: 

  • Integrate quality and patient safety standards in the clinical practice of pediatric hematology and oncology 
  • Identify and share quality improvement and patient safety tools relevant to pediatric hematology and oncology patient population 
  • Formulate priorities for quality improvement and patient safety in pediatric hematology and oncology 

Learning Outcome. At the end of the conference, at least 80% of attendees will be able to identify at least one concept learned related to quality improvement and patient safety in the pediatric hematology and oncology patient population. 
 
Accreditation/Credit Statement. This live activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the Texas Medical Association through the joint providership of Texas Children’s Hospital and Baylor College of Medicine. Texas Children’s Hospital is accredited by the TMA to provide continuing medical education for physicians. 
 
Texas Children’s Hospital designates this live activity for a maximum of 7.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s) TM. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
