Join us as we discuss new developments in the area of pediatric functional abdominal disorders, also known as disorders of gut-brain interaction (DGBI). During this conference, our experts in gastroenterology, psychology, and pain medicine will talk through the medical and psychosocial considerations for these patients who are suffering from functional abdominal pain.

Educational Objectives

At the conclusion of the lecture, the participants should be better able to:

Utilize the biopsychosocial model of chronic pain in clinical practice.

Use the Rome IV diagnostic criteria in evaluation of functional abdominal pain in children.

Practice dietary, complementary, and behavioral strategies in the care of children with functional abdominal pain.

Identify and refer patients who may benefit from neuromodulatory strategies.
