Personal Statement
I am a pediatric nurse practitioner and I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at 3 years old. My experience as patient with type 1 diabetes started a lifelong passion for learning all about the endocrine system and for offering compassionate, holistic care to pediatric patients with type 1 and type 2 diabetes. I strongly believe in family-centered healthcare, which involves empowering my patients and their families to be knowledgeable about their conditions, as well as available technologies & treatments to help ease the burden of their disease(s). My hope is to help give my patients the opportunity for a healthy, productive life and the chance to achieve their goals.
