Personal Statement

I am a professional chaplain who works as part of the Heart Center Team to provide emotional and spiritual support for our patients, families, staff and physicians. I am also a vital part of our Spiritual Care Department Team which provides this same level of care and holistic spiritual support for the entire TCH Main Campus. Holistic spiritual support encompasses all faith traditions as it creates a sense of hope through relational presence regardless of one’s religion, religious beliefs or affiliations or the absence thereof. Holistic spiritual support also involves striving to reach across all cultural barriers to ensure that everyone who enters Texas Children’s Hospital feels that they are in a safe haven where they are valued and cared for. So I am here to support the spiritual being within every human.
