Personal Statement
Meredith is a speech-language pathologist at Texas Children’s Hospital and at The Rise School of Houston, an affiliated specialized early education program. She currently represents the Speech, Language, and Learning Department at the Rise School, which serves children with Down syndrome and other developmental disabilities, as well as children without disabilities.
Meredith is an advocate for the benefits of inclusive educational models, and she is passionate about supporting children of all abilities and their families in achieving goals through an individualized, relationship-based approach. She works as part of a multidisciplinary team at Rise to support the development of communication and feeding skills across environments. When not at Rise, Meredith provides outpatient speech therapy services at Texas Children’s Texas Medical Center campus, where she evaluates and treats children with speech, language, fluency, and feeding disorders. Additionally, she specializes in providing comprehensive assessments and therapy for children who stutter by incorporating evidenced-based and culturally-sensitive treatment methods for developmental or neurogenic stuttering across preschool, school-age, and adolescent populations.

Research Interests: interventions for speech clarity in Down syndrome, best practice for stuttering interventions, comorbid factors associated with fluency disorders, treatment strategies for sensorimotor feeding difficulties
